Meet the Founders

In 2013, Emily and I found ourselves working in rural Ghana by different paths. Emily was studying development economics at Harvard, and I had just graduated from MIT when we had first met each other in Ghana.

It was here that we were introduced to the moringa tree. NGO’s encouraged farmers to cultivate moringa for the nutritional benefits. Gram for gram, the leaves contain more iron than spinach, more protein than yogurt, and more calcium than milk. But farmers had no way to earn a living cultivating moringa and no access to the market.

Putting mines and Emily’s engineering and business acumen to work, we went back to devise a plan to bring the nutrients of moringa back to our friends and family — adding value and jobs on the ground and producing high-quality, nutritious, pure moringa products.

We give farmers a market for 100% of all of their moringa produce, providing their families income and food security during the dry season.
